Service Support Change for M•Plan and Advantage Membership

Suburban Health Organization (SHO) transitioned to Cooperative Managed Care Services (CMCS) responsibility for medical management, grievances and balance billing functions for M•Plan and Advantage membership on January 1, 2008.

To better assist you through this transition the following important information should be shared with your office staff:

1. The phone and fax numbers you currently use to obtain authorization or inquire on services requiring authorization will not change. When calling 317.692.5223 or 800.570.7894 our phone system triage will route you to CMCS or you may update your information to reach them directly by dialing 317.570.9999.



2. All claim inquiry calls should continue to go to CMCS by calling 317.596.5929 or 866.873.4516 or by going on-line at www.cmcs-indy.com. Periodically calls come into SHO or get routed to SHO but effective January 1, 2008, all customer service calls will be handled by CMCS.



3. SHO will continue to handle provider participation, credentialing, demographic changes, and contracting support. Please continue to contact us at 317.692.5241 or 800.451.3597 if you have questions or need assistance



4. The Tools/Resources section of the Physician Services page will provide you access to our Quick Reference Card that provides contact information for claims and medical management inquiries, access to pre-certification and authorization requirements, access to the provider directory and manual, and access to various SHO forms used for medical management and contracting.

M•Plan Employer Group Termination Update

M•Plan has actively been closing their HMO commercial operations. Although the membership accessed through SHO has diminished significantly, we continue to service approximately 1,000 M•Plan members.
