Affinity Groups Find New Ways to Share Best Practices

One of the benefits provided through the SHO Affinity Group Structure is the ability to share best practices across the SHO hospitals. In 2010, a new approach to best practice sharing was piloted with the Quality Management Council.

The QMC online portal now includes a section for Council members to post ideas and resources to common areas of concern. The new area includes a list of all suggestions with details about the practice being shared and links to helpful documents and resources.

This new tool is a great start to providing some structure to the best practice sharing occurring within Affinity Groups. SHO will continue to develop and promote best practice sharing tools, as sharing information will be more important in an environment that focuses on increasing quality and reducing costs.
